There are many ways in which you can help the VLSI network
for Pakistani Engineers.
1. If you are in the CAD/CAE
area, provide us information on how to get tools for education
institutions at low cost/free of cost.
These tools can be any VLSI related tools:
- Verilog compilers/simulators
- Verification tools
- Synthesis tools
- DFT tools
- SPICE
- Place and Route
- Layout/Floorplanning
- FPGA tools
- FPGA debugging boards
- Training materials/Soft copy of manuals
If it helps us to get the tools, maybe some of these educational
institutions might be willing to act as alpha or beta sites
for new Versions of these tools.
2. If you are an educator in
the VLSI area, provide us help in setting up course or lab
material for introducing different VLSI courses at different
educational institutions. This would include providing course
description, recommending textbooks, some actual lab material
which can be used in specialized labs or as part of Digital
logic design, Computer architecture Labs. Basically in some
cases help us define a curculio for this area.
3. If you are an educator/researcher/entrepreneur
give the students in Pakistan topics for their final year
projects. This could help you refine your ideas while at the
same time help students here get exposure to new areas.
4. If you are an engineering
professional provide us information about the latest trends
for VLSI design/architecture. Point us towards new architectures/hot
market areas coming up, for which we can provide IP/tools/verification
environments etc.
5. If you are an Entrepreneur/Executive
person and are in a position to outsource keep the engineers
in Pakistan in mind. Give us ideas of markets we should target
for.
6. While visiting Pakistan if
you are interested in giving technical / marketing/entrepreneur
talks about the VLSI area let us know, and we will try to
arrange a place for it.
And not least of all let other Pakistani VLSI personnel know
about this network of engineers, and spread the word.
